This resto is quite popular among seafood lovers in Semarang as they provide wide choices of fish and seafood. the building is dutch architecture inside, feel ancient but nice and comfortable. they serve any kind of indonesian seafood like : ikan kuah asam (sour fish soup) It came in very large bowl but the fish is just a small bandeng laut (milk fish from the sea not from the brackish pond) cut in 3 pieces. The stock is sour indeed (from the kaffir lime) and very refreshing. We like the fish, the texture is firm but soft and it fresh also.Gurame bakar polos (grilled gourami), crabs and more. Indonesian people cannot be separated from sambal (chilly sauce) and GAMA resto provide some different kinds of chilly sauce for free, you can take as much as you want for free. Here is all the sambal they provide that night : sambal kedondong (some kind of fruit), sambal kecap (sweet soy chilly sauce), samabl tomat (tomato), sambal dabu-dabu (made from green tomato, fresh shallot and chilly), sambal lombok ijo (green chilly), sambal terasi (condiment made from pounded and fermented shrimp or small fish).
The restaurant is suitable for a gathering of a large group or family reunion as the space is quite big. They also offer chicken dishes for those who want something else than seafood.
